Cherokee County School District offers FREE COVID testing to all district employees and students. We are able to offer COVID testing through a grant opportunity with DHEC and Mako Medical. PCR COVID tests are available, with test results back within 24-48 hours.

Free COVID Testing offered every Tuesday and Thursday at times and locations below:

  • Gaffney High School from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. Location: Visitor Side of the Teams Room (The Reservation Building) in front of the ticket booth
  • Blacksburg High School from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: Behind the High School- From Rutherford Street, turn in parking lot at the back of the cafeteria

How to Get Free COVID Testing:

  • You must be a student or an employee of Cherokee County School District
  • Parental Consent is Required for all students - Parents can come with their child to either testing site and sign consent at time of testing or download the consent form from the district web site
  • If you have COVID symptoms or have been exposed to known COVID and have no symptoms, you can receive a free COVID PCR test at either of the test locations on Tuesday or Thursday
  • Any student or employee can get tested at either of the district test site location

How to Get Test Results:

  • Test results will be available through a secure web site that you access- information is provided at time of testing on how to get your results. You can also download these instructions from the district web site @

Asymptomatic Testing (No symptoms but want to get tested):

  • Free COVID PCR testing will also be offered for students or employees that are asymptomatic (showing no symptoms) but want to be tested at other schools on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Check with your school nurse and/or principal for test times at other school locations.
