Weather Announcement

Due to the forecasted Tropical Storm Warning issued in our area for Thursday, October 29, 2020, Cherokee County School District will be operating as an eLearning Day tomorrow.  This means school and district buildings will be closed and all students will be learning remotely. It is important that students log on to their Canvas classroom during regular school hours tomorrow as teachers will have assignments ready by 8:30 a.m. All after-school and school related activities are cancelled for Thursday. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes families, however, the safety of our students and staff is always our first priority.

 Thank you for your support.

What is an eLearning Day?

In most cases, Cherokee County School District will use eLearning days for inclement weather days. On eLearning Days, students and teachers do not report to school but will complete classroom activities using technology (Grades 2-12). We can use up to three (3) eLearning Days and will decide if we use consecutive days on a case-by-case basis.  In this brochure you will find answers to some of the frequently asked questions about eLearning Days.

How and when will students and parents know if an eLearning Day will take place?

We will communicate school building cancellations and the announcement of an eLearning Day through phone calls, district/school websites, social media, and local media. It is important to note that school is not cancelled, just the location is changing.
