Security Vestibules in Place

The district received a $1 million state grant in October 2017 to install security cameras in all county middle schools and elementary schools over the past year. Double-locked security vestibules are being placed at all main school entrances as part of the district’s $67 million building program.  Visitors must be buzzed into a school building from an outdoor intercom system.

Elementary School Resource Officers
In July 2018, the Cherokee County School Board made the decision to add 12 school resource officers to increase safety in every elementary school.
