Ms. Beth Martin previously served as an adult education instructor at the Ola Copeland Adult Education Center. She has twenty-two years of teaching experience at the adult education level. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Winthrop University, a master’s degree in secondary administration from Converse College and an educational specialist’s degree in secondary administration from Converse College.

Mission Statement

The mission of adult education in South Carolina is to assist adults in becoming literate and obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency.

Requirements to enter Adult Education

  • must be 17 years old or older

  • must not be enrolled in a regular high school setting

Registration and Testing Schedule

There are morning, afternoon, and evening times available.

High School Diploma Classes
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (August - May)
Evening Classes:
 Monday and Tuesday 5:00 PM - 8 PM (September - Mid-May)

Pre-GED and GED Classes
Monday- Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (August - May)
Evening Classes: Monday and Tuesday 5:00 PM - 8 PM (September - Mid-May)

WorkKeys Testing Schedule
WorkKeys Test are given on Thursday mornings at 8:00 am. You must make an appointment with Kim Jolly at (864) 487-7152 because space is limited.
